UndergroundTunnels in CHippenham.I have heard over the years about 2 tunnels that have been closed to the general public for decades. the first was allegedly under Hardenhuish House that led to the nearby woods (where remains of ice house are today) or they led to nearby the brook by the Bristol road.
the other was located under the high street which runs under the Angel.
Anyone know anything about them.

Hardenhuish House has two cellars with lots of tunnels & rooms under the main building, but none going out to other places. Also has underground room under the car park in front, which used to be a salt cellar and is now full of 200 years of junk.
Small very narrow tunnel from St. Andrew's church towards Angel, open grille in St. Mary's street. Rather dull, really.
Lots of buildings in town centre have interesting cellars, largely because you have to be very friendly to the Landlords to get to see them, which means you are generally plastered when you do.
Also all the usual phone & cable tunnels, sewers, gas mains, etc. These are everywhere: Will people be exploring them in a few hundred years' time, as tourist attractions?

It is possible there would be a culvert from Hardenhuish house heading towards the brook although it is a long way there is no other natural drainage ditch or sewer
Also my mum used to work in a shop next to Iceland and in their basement was a cellar which looked like it extended on in that direction. Or so she used to tell me.

Been down the Three Crowns celler, its massive.
My mate hob nobbled his misses down there a couple of months ago (so he said but he was only gone for a few moments - no change there then )
